Theatre Conference Auditions

South Eastern Theater Conference

Professional Member Companies
SETC sponsors auditions every spring and fall for actors, singers and dancers. At the Spring Convention over 85 companies seek performers for both summer and year-round roles. The Fall Professional Auditions in September offer employment opportunities at over 30 theatre companies.

Fall Professional Auditions
Representatives from over 30 professional theatres gather at our fall meeting to audition over 200 actors. To be eligible to audition as a professional in the Fall you must be 18 years of age or older, not be currently enrolled in school, be available to work within 60 days of the audition and have had a minimum of two paid professional jobs in live theatre with companies approved by the SETC Auditions Committee.

Spring Professional Auditions

SETC conducts one of the country's largest combined auditions. Approximately 85 companies gather at our Annual Convention to audition over 800 actors. To be eligible to audition as a professional you must be 18 years of age or older, not be currently enrolled in school and have had a minimum of two paid professional jobs in live theatre since completing your training. Dancer Only Auditions also occur at the Spring Convention.

Screening Auditions for Pre-Professionals and College Students
Individuals (including students) interested in auditioning at the Spring Auditions who do not meet the above professional qualifications must first audition and be passed on at the state level before being allowed to audition as a part of the Spring Auditions.

Graduate School Auditions (Fall and Spring)
Students and other individuals attending these auditions will be seeking admission or transfer to graduate acting programs. The auditions are held in the Spring as a part of SETC's Annual Convention, and will also be held in the Fall.

Undergraduate Auditions
High school juniors, seniors and transfer students audition or interview for entry and scholarships to theatre training programs.
